My name is John, and I've spent the past fourteen years involved in recovery groups at my church, serving in ministry for roughly a decade.
Over those years I've come to realize something important: everyone who serves in this space brings a different strength to the table. Some people are incredible prayer warriors. Others know their bible inside and out. Some have the rare ability to connect with even the most difficult people who walk through the doors each week. And there are others who seem almost like ninjas when it comes to leading step studies and guiding people through the deeper work of recovery.
As for me, my strength has always been something a little simpler.
Grace. Mercy. And a deep desire to stay connected with the men I serve each week through consistent follow-up and regular check-ins.
Over time I've seen what that kind of consistency can do. I've experienced it in my own recovery journey, and I've witnessed it in the lives of the men I walk alongside. When someone knows that another person is going to check in, notice, and care enough to ask how things are going, something changes. Small actions start to repeat. Momentum begins to build.
Daily Anchor is simply an extension of that same idea. Regardless if you use this tool to break bad habits or start healthy ones, you can find success if you stay consistent.
Over the years I've learned that most people don't struggle because they don't know what to do. They struggle because life gets busy, motivation fades, and no one is there to notice when they drift. Sometimes all a person really needs is a small structure and someone who cares enough to ask, "How did today go?"
Daily Anchor was built to provide that structure.
